| 2020年的蒞臨了，先祝願大家今年處理每一件事也會十分容易(2)。若果自己有甚麼不足的地方，都可以歸零(0)，重新開始；這樣重覆，就如今年的年份了。今年一月份只有十四個上課天，其中四天是考試，其餘便是假期了。上課日子雖少，但這個月我們卻進行了兩個大型的活動，分別為一月四日(星期六)的開放日及一月十七日(星期五)的中華文化日。 |

2020 has come and I hope everyone can handle all their works easily (like Chinese articulation of 2 this number). If you have room to improve, hope all these problems will be back to zero (0) and start up again. It is repeated like the pattern of the 4-digit numbers this year. In January, there are only 14 days to go to school and there are 4 days for the examination and the rest is holiday. Although the days of going to school are lesson, there are two huge functions. On 4th January, 2020, it was the Open Day and 17th January, 2020 was the Chinese Cultural Day.

The Open day was a bit different to last year. We used to show what our students learns in the extra-curricular activities and they would show on the stage of ‘Momentum Utopia’. It is such a great opportunity to show what they have learnt and to perform themselves for building their confidence.

Owing to the unstable circumstances happened in Hong Kong recently, there weren’t have enough time to practice and they couldn’t perform. Therefore, the numbers of performances were decreased and I hope my students did not feel too disappointed because they will have a chance to perform in the second term.

| 今年只有五個節目表演，分別為高及低年級兩組的英文話劇表演、英詩集誦、中詩集誦及合唱團的表演。除了中詩集誦外，全部節目均以英文演出。這是我們銳意提升學生的英語能力及興趣。五個節目中，最令我感到驚喜的表演，便是合唱團了。雖然同學們練習次數不多，但他們表現出色，令全場嘩然，希望同學繼續努力，更感謝老師們在忙碌的工作之中也為學生的表演着緊。今年的表演移師到有蓋操場進行，全場的氣氛熱烈，連街上的遊人，也停下腳步，欣賞我們的表演。 |

There were 5 performances on the Open Day. There were 2 drama performances from upper and lower form, English choral speaking, Chinese choral speaking and the school choir. Besides, Chinese choral speaking, all other performances were conducted in English. Enhancing students’ English language abilities and interests is our key issues to develop. Among 5 performances, I was surprised by the school choir. They did not have enough time to practice but their performance is marvellous and stunning, everyone was surprised. We wish for our students to keep working on it and thank you so much to all the teachers who are so busy but they still tried their best to grab the time to practice with the students. This year, the show was moved to the covered playground and it made the atmosphere become hotter. Even the people on the street stopped and watched out performances from outside.

除表演外，老師們為學生安排了一些有關STEM及英文的互動遊戲，有趣好玩，老師會為學生或訪客作簡單講解，令他們理解當中的原理。最能吸引學生的就是體能測試及新式運動推介，當天很多學生也試玩「美國圓網球」，希望藉此讓學生認識更多不同類型的運動。 |

Besides this, there are some booths about STEM and English which were interactive, interesting and easy to understand. All the theories would be explained by the teachers to the visitors and made them understand. Unpredictably, most of the people loved the physical fitness area and the new sports promotion area that is called ‘Roundnet’ to let our students learn various kinds of sports.

我們各科的課程也藉着開放日的機會向外界展示一下，因為今年我們在各科也作課程剪裁，希望提升學生對學習興趣，令他們容易地掌握知識。最重要及最有意義的攤位，一定是由家長教師會所安排的義賣攤位。各位義工家長連夜用利是封製作不同的花燈、全盒及不同的賀年飾物。他們將全數的收入扣除基本開支外，全數撥捐給保護兒童會。這個有意義的活動，盡顯人性善良及愛心。這個義賣活動一直舉行至中華文化日為止。 |

We also displayed our school curriculums of different subjects. This year, we did some curriculum adaptation in different subjects. It aims to enhance students’ learning interests and make them more easily grasp the knowledge that they have learnt. We believe that the most important booth must be held by the Parent-Teacher Association. The parents used the red-packets to make lanterns, candy trays and other festive ornaments for the charity. All the money will be donated to the Hong Kong Society for the Protection to Children after deducting the expenditures. It is such a meaningful activity and it shows the kindness and sympathy of human nature. The charity selling will be conducted until Chinese Cultural Day.

中華文化日在一月十七日(星期五)舉行，首先，同學們兵分兩路，初小的同學會先到禮堂參加中華文化講座；高小的同學便在操場參加不同的活動，例如:攤位遊戲(全部已配合學生所學的中國語文課程)、寫揮春及華服拍攝。小息後，我們安排了醒獅表演，這個表演令整個學校也熱鬧起來，師傅更教授同學基本步法，令同學可以親身接觸這項中國的文化。家長教師會安排了慈善義賣，所籌得之款項捐予香港保護兒童會。今年如常設有賀年食品試食，同學們大快朵頤。大家也不捨得離開操場這個可以吃喝、可以玩樂、可以學習、可以購物的中華文化日，希望學生及家長也能度過愉快的一天。 |

On 17th January, 2020, the Chinese Cultural Day was held. In the beginning, Key stage 1 students went to the school hall to have a seminar about the Chinese Culture. Key stage 2 students went to the playground to play different kinds of activities such as booths (the content students learned in the formal curriculum is incorporated to the games in the booths), writing spring couplets (I found lots of people love writing but they do not like doing assignments.) Some students wore the Chinese costumes to take pictures for memories. After the recess, there was a lion dance performance. It got everyone into the mood quickly and they felt very excited. On that day, parents were not just selling things for charity, they also prepared lots of Chinese food for students to eat and the students loved it. Everyone can eat, drink, play, learn and shop during Chinese Culture Day. Wishing all the students and parents have a great day at our school.

在一月二十日，學校附近一所幼稚園邀請了我們表演及展示攤位遊戲，我們便安排英語話劇組及STEM組出戰。英語話劇組令各位觀眾欣賞得津津樂道；而STEM組的IRON MAN 手控遊戲，是最多人排隊參與。我亦代表學校出席，為大會頒發家長義工證書。學生、老師及校長也實踐了一次服務學習，實在是難得的機會，日後也應多加參與。 |

On 20th January, 2020, our school was invited by a kindergarten nearby to do a performance and to set up a booth. We made the decision to perform a drama and a game for controlling a car with a hand like Iron Man. About the performance, all the audiences enjoyed to watch it and the booth was the one who had most of the people to queue up to play. I was also invited to be the guest to present the certificate for the parents as they were the volunteers to assist this event to run. Students, teachers and the principal did the first service learning and it was a precious chance. We wish to have more learning services provided for our stakeholders.
